On December 9th 2021, the "Accounting Cooperation Forum of Jiaotong University" and the third annual academic conference organized by the Organizing Committee of the "Jiaotong University Accounting Cooperation Forum" and undertaken by the School of Economics and Management of Southwest Jiaotong University were successfully held online + offline. It has attracted the extensive participation and attention of scholars in the field of accounting and finance at home and abroad.
This conference is mainly carried out in the form of keynote reports and sub-forum reports. In the keynote speech, the conference invited Professor Jian Zhou from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Professor Danling Jiang from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Professor Wenfeng Wu from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Professor Nan Hu from Xi’an Jiaotong University, and Professor Cong Wang from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) for 5 wonderful keynote reports.
The five speakers shared their academic research results, including cutting-edge research issues such as bank and local debt governance, the application of artificial intelligence in accounting, corporate mergers and acquisitions, and corporate earnings announcements. Professor Junrui Zhangof Xi'an Jiaotong University, Professor Yinhua Ye of Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Professor Yongmei Cuiof Beijing Jiaotong University, and Professor Lijun Xiaof Shanghai Jiaotong University made wonderful comments on the keynote speech. The number of online participants reached more than 300, and the conference's atmosphere was enthusiastic.
In terms of sub-forum reports, this year's academic conference received a total of 120 submissions from scholars from nearly 60 universities at home and abroad. After the experts' evaluation and selection by the organizing committee, a total of 30 papers were selected for 6 sub-forum reports. The annual academic conference showcased the latest research results in accounting and finance, and promoted the exchange and cooperation of relevant scientific researchers at home and abroad.
Thetopics of sub-forum reports included the aspects of financial accounting, auditing and capital markets, innovation and high-quality growth, mergers and acquisitions and investment, corporate governance, and corporate finance. The sub-forum reports were chaired by professors from the five Jiaotong University. Speakers from the sub-forum shared their latest scientific research results. Professor Xinsheng Chengfrom Nankai University, Professor Hongbo Panfrom Wuhan University, and Professor Song Tangfrom Shanghai University respectively commented on the sub-forum reports, and the participating scholars also actively participated in the discussion.
After the sub-forum reports, the paper awards & conference closing and handover ceremony were held. The ceremony was presided over by Qiang Guo, Executive Dean of the School of Economics and Management from Southwest Jiaotong University.
First of all, Professor Junrui Zhangof Xi’an Jiaotong University, the initiator of the "Jiaotong University Accounting Cooperation Forum" made a speech. He reviewed the previous two annual conferences and summarized the situation of this forum. Finally, Professor Zhang gave a speech on this annual conference and expressed gratitude towards all the scholars who participated in this annual conference.
Subsequently, Qiang Guo, Executive Dean of the School of Economics and Management from Southwest Jiaotong University announced the list of award-winning excellent papers. He pointed out that this year's annual conference will bring together talents in the field of accounting from home and abroad, and provide a platform for scholars in accounting, finance and other related fields to exchange high-quality academic results. In order to promote the close cooperation of the five Jiaotong University, increase the communication between the colleges and improve the good foundation for the construction of the accounting profession and the training of accounting talents. At the closing ceremony and handover ceremony, Lijun Xia, director of the accounting department of the Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiaotong University, the organizer of the next "Jiaotong University Accounting Cooperation Forum", gave a speech. He said that he will strive to make the Accounting Cooperation Forum of Jiaotong University better and better, and work together for the development of China's accounting academics and the construction of accounting disciplines of the five Jiaotong Universities.
The "Accounting Cooperation Forum of Jiaotong University" and the third annual academic conference (2021) came to a successful conclusion. The successful holding of the conference has had a positive academic impact, promoted in-depth exchanges between domestic and foreign academic colleagues in the accounting field, and helped to further promote the construction and development of the accounting discipline.
